Saw c8 corvette & attempted to keep up!!
Ok... it was all black! First thing im a say in terms of looks is WOW! I thought it was a lambo at first!!! Some of the proportions on TV & and video dont look as good as in person. Especially in motion.
Mind you. This car is 495hp with 470lb to. With my mods, I push 504hp with 483lbs to and my tires are stickier than dry ice on flesh. When he took off, I punched it right behind him. I do this with c7's all day. I shock a lot of c7 owners and I had a couple of AMG's get their bubbles busted. The camaro is that car that you thought you can beat cuz its a cheap muscle car. Then you get eaten. Well... I got totally eaten!!! Nowhere in the acceleration runs did I have a chance. This thing was OUT!! Its gonna take a ZL 1 to give this thing some comp. But im sure off the line, the c8 will destroy it. Its from rolls the zl1 may have an advantage. Reviewers talk along about what that corvette isn't. I can tell you what it is... fast af!!! May it needs updates to improve some things? But a z06 version of this car is going to put other cars out of business. Especially if they can get it to rev higher. The car is spectacular. This car was all black with the z51pkg n high wing!! Niiiice

The C8 is definitely no joke. I tested it on draggy and you can consistently run 0-60 in 3.4~ seconds every single time with LC. They do weight slightly more so a Z making 500WHP will easily beat it from a roll.
I'll be posting a couple comparison videos this week

Current C7 Z06 M7 owner with a C8 on order. Got to drive the C8 with Z51 on a road course back in July. While I'm not even a novice racer, I'm no stranger to racing, auto-x, etc. I've also driven several high end cars on road courses like the 911 turbo, Audi R8 V10 and lambo gallardo. The C8 is the only car the instructor kept telling me to keep my foot down when I hit corners. The car has massive grip to the point that it just didn't seem right to keep accelerating in the corner. After the 3rd lap I cam to trust the car more and it was just crazy the grip this car has compared to some AWD cars I've driven. As for rolling acceleration (didn't get to do any digs) I will say that compared to my Z06 I didn't miss the extra power. I could tell it didn't have the raw power my Z06 does but then again I can't ever use it because the Z06 has no traction in lower gears. While I'm sure the C8 Z06 will be a monster I'm sure the C8 Z51 I have coming will be more than enough. Especially with some basic mods I plan to add.

I am pretty confident a C8 is in my future once they become more widely available and start hitting the used market in a few years. I just hope they crack the ECU by then.

I video’d one at the dragstrip Sunday.
The C8 ran 11.76 in superb conditions. My neighbors 2007 Z06 went 10.39 @ 137.

From a roll, otherwise my Z is eaten alive from a dig.
Honestly, GM did a great job with the C8. I'm thinking of selling both my Z's and getting one next year. Edit: Only 1 major con from the C8 and that is brake by wire. Unfortunately does not feel even close to the Z's and it feels very vague at times. Steering is also a 6/10 but it does the job.

Not in all black with an aftermarket high wing it isn't. I'd rather be a wannabe lambo than a wannabe porsche. Just sayin. Lambos look sick. Porsche not so much.

Don’t know what it is, but the car looks strange in person. I can’t put my finger on it. It sort of looks like the rear is disproportionately long compared to the rest of the car, almost like it was tacked on. It’s definitely a rocket but a car has to also look good to peak my interest and I think the C7 looks better.
Ps: We won’t even get into those hideous square tail pipes....easily replaced, fortunately.

Those things are ugly as hell. I've been seeing them a lot in Miami lately. The c7 zr1 looks a lot better. I mean yeah the c7 is more expensive but the c8 is more like a girls car. I'd rather drive a 911 gt3 rs than a lambo. Lambos are overrated. The 911 gt3 is a true racecar and is a lot faster.

The performance per dollar is there for sure tho, but I’d rather have a Porsche all day and twice on Sunday. Gt3 RS is my dream car. |
