Beautiful car, but if I were going to get an older Z, it would be a 240 or a second gen 300 TT.

I can't remember for sure but is was a little over $11,000. My best friend bought a new one in 1980 and sold it 6 months later. He actually made money off of it. The 300zx's were in the price range you quoted.
