I've done it a time or a dozen. First time was in high school. Working at a gas station. Had a 73 Dart Sport with a 340 4 speed. After I closed the station for the night. I installed a set of Hooker headers. Didn't have any mufflers on it. The gas station was next to the police station. One of my buddies called in a wreck at the other end of town. When the police took off. I went the other way home. That was ear splitting on the way home that I can remember. After I blew up the 340. It become a 440, then a 572. When I was racing motorcycles. I had one section of 4 lane that I used for checking the plugs and jetting. Flying flat out in high gear then do a throttle chop and coast to a stop. Then pull the plugs out to inspect them and change the jetting.

Funny, and that did remind me of something I had done. I had a formula ford and did a test run down the street I lived on, just to make sure it was all together. I lived out in the country at the time, so cops were rare...
Thanks for making me smile....
