Bud,it is just business.
Get over it--understand.
Nissan hit a dud with the Cube awhile back.They aimed at the youth market.
There were no takers.
With the Juke. Design wise,a pretty ugly vehicle. They upped it with more HP&
and a NISMO version
Missed the mark again.
Now,the Kicks is aimed at the hot selling Kia Soul.
MPV with everyday run around town features for around 20K.

Not a bad move.
However,the Soul's customer base is north of 50 years old.
They care less about Bose headrests.
Price is great but--125hp? with only A/T.

The Soul IMO is still the overall winner in the MPV box category.

Good to see the Juke go.

I actually liked the Juke. It drove shockingly well to me and it is quicker than people biasly think its not. Furthermore,you dont like the Juke. But you have an emotion about it.

The replacement is a joke. Its numb. And im sure this will be the first and last thread about a kicks. Theres people modding the shyt out of jukes. There was a juke GTR . This thing...

Oh n lastly.... We dont care if its just business. Theres nothing to GET OVER. We have the right to opinion and discussion. To dislike or rant. We can say Nissans strategy sucks. We can express what we like n dont like. Like you express u dont like Jukes. Im not gonna tell u get over it theyre on the road.

Well, Honda didn’t see the business case to continue the Element, which was even more utilitarian than Soul or Cube. Perhaps because Fit/Jazz carried enough of this market for them, but I don’t see this Nissan setting the world on fire.

I thought that the Juke was a neat experiment. Didn’t cotton to its looks, but thought that with a bit of a tweak here or there it might have been a winner. Look at Toyota and Honda with their new micro-ute’s (HRV and CHR). Nissan might have been ahead of the curve with Juke 2.0, but instead they choose to play “me too” wit just another same again. And they have the nerve to call it “one of a kind”. Stupid.

I own several vehicles besides a Z34&Z33(Got a 70's Lotus Europa too).
Well,bought a Kia Soul,2013 model. Needed a MPV to haul around stuff etc.
Cost me less than 20K. After 40K no problem miles(OEM brakes&tires-about
30mpg average),I am pretty pleased.
Got to tell you,the Soul also has a very well used online forum.
Gave me a snapshot of the owners pretty quick:
Guys well over 50 yrs and a few chicks.
The comments&mod questions on the Soul brought me to tears.

The Soul is at the top or near of their vehicle sales. Why? It cheap,does most
everything you want a MPV to be..
Thats it.
Kia now offering a turbo which I see as pretty lame for their customer base.
Kia will gladly take the $$$.
The Soul I have with the 2.0 ltr does a great job as a MPV. Drop in a K&N
and add a front brace(company no longer making e'm-lack of market...),
is a great get around town deal.

LNissan shouldve done what Chevy did with the camaro, with the Z and the Juke.

As much as i liked the Camaro 5 i couldnt deal with its interior, heft and lack of visibility. The Z was a pure sports car by power, dimension and handling. The transmission and steering both responsive. The Z won in my book.

6 years later im in the 2nd gen camaro, still want a nismo Z to mod. But how did i actually jump in the Chevy?

The camaro was evolutionary. I didnt think in the beginning id be interested in an evolutionary camaro till it gave me a revolutionary driving experience.

Nissan claims they didnt know where to go with the Z. Yet they made one of the strongest engines in the Q60.

Go dual clutch

Modernizing the chassis, using the current Nismo body kit as the standard for the evolution of the regular Z35.

Updating the z in the exact way the camaro was updated, minus the electric handbrake. Just do like mustang there.

But give an integrated link system on the stereo.
Configurable electronic triple gauges.
Smooth out exterior lines
Much more aggressive head and tail lights.
Lower the stance by 1", = 51" in height. And enhance the turbo technology to have a stronger exhaust sound like a Benz.

Thats it...

Same couldve been done with the juke instead the juke would now get a dual clutch unit that would be in the Z35.

Chevy did everything except go dual clutch.
And the evolutionary was simple but made the car look revolutionary.

Nissan just wants to make a quick buck. They are the GM of the 90's and the toyota of the first 12 years of the millenium.

But i also blame the enthusiast. Everyone hated the Z until nissan said theyre not interested in making it better.

The z is way better than people spent talking crap about it for 7 years straight.
It was better than any muscle car or bimmer of the last generation that delusional iphone/starbucks people were trading them in for.

When you follow trends n not your heart you lose good things.
