Lots of bling, still front engine (frankly, where it belongs in this car - Vette drivers have enough difficulties holding their horsepower without inflicting mid-engine balance on them!) Chevy celebrates

65th Anniversary Corvette, and guess what?
Lots of bling, still front engine (frankly, where it belongs in this car - Vette drivers have enough difficulties holding their horsepower without inflicting mid-engine balance on them!)
Chevy celebrates Corvette’s 65th anniversary with lots of carbon fibre | Driving "Next year, the Chevrolet Corvette will celebrate 65 years since its introduction in 1953 – and we really do have to commend Chevrolet for never wavering in its basic formula. Since the beginning, the Corvette has almost always been a V8-powered, rear-drive, two-seat sports car, and GM is acknowledging the milestone with a new package. The new Carbon 65 package can be fitted to the Corvette Grand Sport or the Z06. It costs a whopping US$15,000, and for all that dough you get lots of bits – including a spoiler, cooling ducts, ground effects and a steering wheel – finished in carbon fibre. Other details include special sill plates, black suede upholstery and a special blue soft top for convertible models. Only 650 Carbon 65s will be made in total; of those, 500 are going to the U.S. and another 150 will be exported. Exactly how many are coming to Canada hasn’t been announced, but expect the Corvette Carbon 65 to be a rare sight on our roads." Sorry, Canadian source and hence the reference. I love Corvettes and have owned them in the past. But come on GM, just makeup, jewelry and trinkets for $15k on the C7 and this is how you mark a milestone? Thanks but I will definitely pass on this one. Maybe a 70th anniversary 'Vette will be something truly special.
