Corvette ZO6 Picks A Fight With The Viper ACR In The Most Hell-Yeah Battle

Pretty cool video....I would take the acr viper because of its rawness and boyracer look...which would you take? Also note they included a Porsche 911 rs for comparison. Too bad this is the last year of the viper.

The Viper ACR, hands down. It's my next car.

Cool match up. ACR is impressive, but I can't get over how it looks. Between the two I would take the Z06, cleaner lines, and better looking to me. Otherwise I'd take the 911

Id take the ACR as well. Just wish it sounded a little better.

Yeah so depressing that it just doesn't sound good. Like the 911 turbo sounds like a lawnmower.

It doesn't make or break the car for me but it would be even better if it sounded good.

I think it does make or break the car I think it's a monumental problem. If the viper actually sounded like a traditionally V10 you can't tell me that the car wouldn't sale more. Looks exotic, has performance, lacks exotic sound. The mystique and prestige of the Italian cars come from that F1 sound. Without it they would be just another car. Lexus LFA had a problem with the way it sounded and Lexus went to Yamaha for help and wow LFA sounds amazing. Mclaren changed the configuration of their exhaust and made it titanium. Which made a big difference with the 650s and the LT. sound is everything. I want to love the viper but exhaust note is very important to me.

Oh add Bugatti veyron to the list of disappointing sound.

I think if I'm paying $150k for a car it better preform, looks and sound like I paid $150k for it. Both cars are incredible and even though these head to head comparisons are fun let's face it none of us Randy Probst and the Corvette has one or been on the podium at Lemons each year since the last update and the Viper although gaining momentum is just not there yet. And come on the Hemi sounds amazing so what's with that!

It's the firing order and crank layout that makes the viper sound like a UPS truck. When Dodge first started with the V10 engine. They owned Lambo at that time. Lambo had a hand in designing the engine. Think if you could change the exhaust to a 180deg cross-over. It would sound better.

It doesn't seem like a hard fix. It seems like most manufacturers spend quite a bit of attention to getting the right sound.
