Is CA really that fuckin crazy? That's the wrong side of the equation. How could you possibly fail emissions testing on the intake side?

**edit** I guess so... those practically are stock

Buy a used set of stock intakes and you'll be fine.

As long as thats the only engine related mod you've got.

JARblue,

Here they do a visual inspection and if they see anything non oem they can fail it.
onzedge, JARblue and DEpointfive0 like this.

Ca is very strict with no carb stickers. If you where to get pulled and had no carb stickers you could and can be towed. I have stock oem boxes that I am willing to ship and sell. Let me know if interested ($80.00 shipped) or you can pick up im in sac/fol.

As Trips pointed out, CA is insanely strict with its smog inspections.

FYI, a CA smog inspection includes 3 steps: checking the emissions from the exhaust; checking the engine timing; and a visual inspection of the intake and exhaust system. (All you non-CA residents can mock us, but many states are being to adopt the more stringent CA standard, so be forewarned.)

Unless you have a CARB sticker any changes to the air intakes will fail your inspection. Yet another reason the Stillen CAI are very popular. All their mods are CARB certified.

Your good on exhaust as long as cats are there and no check engine lights.

You have a shot ram. Should be quick to swap back the stock boxes.

Take it to another shop, there are several who refuse to test you with intakes but you can find others who will look the other way

Your location says San Jose and this is the Socal subforum so I can't offer you a shop to go to but if you're in Socal I can suggest somewhere
