Which route are you taking? I would not make the drive with summer tires for sure, especially if you are taking any of the northern passes through the Rockies.

And honestly, ship it. Now is the wrong time of year. If you get stuck somewhere, you can get fúcked. Or drive straight south, over to NorCal, then up. Avoid 500-1000 miles of Canadia, Isamu will tell you ND is frozen over. BlackCherry will tell you it's frozen over in Ohio

If you're coming north from cali take the coast ie Hwy 101. If you take the 5 you're gonna end up going over the siskious which this time of year can be extremely hairy especially in. RWD 370Z.. its longer but much safer

Also, if you're suggesting the 101 because it won't have as much snow or ice, mayyyyybe, but I assume the 5 is much more likely to get snow plowed too

This time of year if you arent running Blizztecks, or another chainless snow tire, either way you still have some mountain passes to think about. It also might be a good idea to have those tires living in Seattle this time of year. The idea of shipping might be a good one but depending on cost it might be an option. You could always check out Alex Roy info on going across the country 31 hours 4 minutes, or Ed Bolian who did it at 28 hours 40 minutes. Good Luck drive safe if you do. |

If you live and work in downtown Seattle, you can likely get away without snow tires. Just don't drive on the days you get snow. And they do get snow, just not every year. And it's like Dallas when they do; people get stupid and there's never enough infrastructure or planning to handle it well like the rest of the interior states.

It's been clear and cold here but so far no rain/snow. It's supposed to warm up in the Puget Sound area the next few days which means rain down here and snow up in our passes, and yes, we have some of the most incompetent drivers up here when conditions are perfect, toss in a little inclement weather and I drive my truck or take the bus. If it were me, I'd either ship the Z or tow it here on a trailer/rental F150 if you have the means. I wouldn't cross the country this time of year without Blizzaks and if you get a set, how are you going to get your summer tires here?
On the scene, we've got a sizable group of Z/G owners and we spend most of our time socializing in a private Facebook group, so this forum section has been a little inactive. Hit me or Xplicit up once you get here for details. There's a couple road course tracks as well as several auto-x clubs out here so there's ample opportunities for your legalized racing itch too.
