I never changed mine, I also rarely drove it this winter. 2 tanks of gas since Sandy?

Wow, I dd mine and go through 2 tanks maybe every 2.5 weeks. My z is also due for inspection this month so I need the tires with tpms sensors( didn't have them installed in winter rims/tires) The winter tires were pretty damn good in the snow, but having those skinny tires on made me feel like one of those guys at the gym with a huge upper body and skinny *** legs.

I just got my Z in January and have been driving it every day the roads have been dry. It has summer tires.
Should I not be driving with summer tires in the cold? (yes this is my first sports car so im no expert on tires) Id assume they are safe as long as i dont drive too fast and take turns too fast..... ![]() i havent had any issues yet... |

long as the roads are dry and you give them time to warm up a bit , ive noticed they are a little sketchy when i first get on the road but once they warm up there not bad . drove a lot on them last winter almost no snow at all . this winter my z has been parked most of the time

Don't worry about the summer tires in the colder weather, on snow and ice, that's a different story. Like 03g35 said, give em a bit to warm up first before driving too hard. The stock bridgestone's are only so grippy anyway. Can upgrade to some fantastic Super Sports.

i was pretty cautious and put blizzaks on just after thanksgiving. I think next year i can wait a little longer into december. blizzaks worked nice in the snow storms, they can handle packed snow on the road and snow in the driveway. Only thing to avoid is big hills..almost got stuck on a hill once but had a buddy with me and he helped push the car up the remainder of the hill while i gave it a little bit of gas

I always have the summer tires on.
![]() I am from Mass too. I'd say wait till April. This year we got a lot of snow here and I am sure there will be more(maybe not the big ones but still)... I had aweful experience driving a RWD in the winter with summer tires on. Not that I didn't survive in the storm. But the worst was after the storm in the parking lot. I couldn't even backup from the parking spot and my G35 coupe was stuck there for 1 and half month until the snow/ice around the car melted... My suggestion is wait till April. But a better plan is to have 2 sets of wheels - one for winter one for summer. So that time like now, you can just easily to switch them out. |

Had them on the whole winter, actually spun out in the middle of a turn one night where there was snow/black ice. Was making a left turn at approximately 5mph being very careful the whole way driving home and suddenly the car just broke lose and on black ice there's absolutely nothing you can do. Car did a 180 and I ended up in the opposite lane, luckily nobody was nearby. Made it home alright, I had the Z out that day cause no snow was in the forecast and was a nice day for the most part but snowed later that night and had no choice but to get home.
