Default Full vinyl wrap for my 09Z

Haven't been in here in forever. I got a price for a full wrap on my Z. Friend uses his buddies shop. Got a price if 2300 total. He does great work, tons of high end BMWs and other vehicles. But I'm in long Island NY and he's in Jersey. It's about hour and half away (feeling lazy). Am I being delusional thinking I can get that done locally for that price? Or is 2300 the average price for a Z wrap? This cv nonsense is messing things up with other shops giving quotes. Thanks in advance

I used a place called phenomenal vinyl, I think they are in Syosset, New York. They do excellent work but are pricey. It's been a few years but a basic full wrap was ~3k. I did almost a full car wrap, excluded the wing parts of the front and rear bumper, that was 4k.

Thanks man. Yeah I don't think anyone will come close to the 2300, especially high quality work. I'll take the drive. Worth it.

Make sure they use the largest sheets available, it wastes more material, but their should not be any seems where they had to join two sheets in the middle of a body panel. What color/material are you getting?

Yeah he did my friends BMW. He removes all the body panels. Uses full sheets on each one. Seams would not be acceptable. Any shop that does that im surprised stays in business. It's 3m. Gonna go with a light cement color. This is a BMW he just finished up in the color. It looks much lighter there. But it is a darker Grey. For some reason looks washed out in certain pics. That's his shop on Instagram.

$2300 is a great deal I would say. Out here in California its near 5K for a wrap.

3M and $2300 for a full wrap - and if you like the way they wrap - taking off the panels and whatnot - sounds like a great deal. I just had ‘most of my wrap’ removed - LOVED the color but in the end, it was time to see what the paint looked like underneath. Granted I haven’t even ‘paint corrected’ it yet and I’m already thinking of not IF but WHEN I’ll be doing a wrap again. My car was done in Satin Black with all the side Nismo pieces wrapped as well - but just removed the satin wrap off of the body and left the Nismo pieces and mirrors.

My 09 paint is shot, magnetic black. Trees ruined it. It can't be saved. BTW the Z has the softest paint I ever owned on a vehicle. I can literally scratch the clear coat with my fingernail. Only has 63k on it. Lowered, tuned, blah blah blah. But I still enjoy zipping around in it. Good change of pace from my Tahoe. So a wrap it is. And it will be under a cover daily for now on....

Phenomenal Vinyl were the guys who used to work out of Real Auto Dynamics garage (if i remember correctly) and they did some impressive work (from the few projects I saw that were complete).

The lowest quote that I could get from a shop with verifiable quality work was $2800, with others quite a bit higher. If it's quality work for $2300, it's well worth a 90 minute drive.
