Default Starter problem?

Went to start my 09 370z and I get just one click each time I press the ignition. I had hoped it was the battery so I got a new one. Same thing! Just a click and now a constant hum from the fuel pump until I disconnected the battery again. This actually happened a few weeks ago but after 2-3 tries it started up and hasn't happened for until now. Any ideas?

Take your foot off the brake and press the start button a few times. If the car does not cycle between off/acc/on, then you probably have a bad steering lock. Check link in my sig.

Already had the steering lock taken care of. It goes into acc mode and the all the lights go on. They were dim before the new battery. This is the 2nd time I'll have to get this car towed since I had it. Never had a single problem with my 350. Sucks!

Use a voltmeter to verify that the starter relay is energizing. See FSM (link in my sig) for wiring diagrams, physical locations of devices, &c.
