Default Power steering fluid

Hello I have an 09 370z touring and my power steering fluid is just a little bit low just wondering what's the best brand to us and can I mix to different types since there is already a good amount there already.

Speaking of which....how often should the power steering fluid be changed? Clutch fluid as well?

No, D6 ATF fluid is correct. Our car requires a Dexron-VI fluid for the power steering. It is what I'm running right now.

Correct, the redline PS fluid is slightly different. I believe it can be used but the ATF is the correct composition to what Nissan uses today.

That's crazy. Go figure, never would have thought about this when it came time to flush/refill.

Default Power Steering 2015 Nissan 370Z

So from reading all these threads. Instead of using the Genuine Nissan Power Steering Fluid, I can use Red Line 30704 Full Synthetic D6 Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Which is transmission fluid? This is blowing my mind. Am I correct? My vehicle is Manual transmission.

Thank you,
Monica

In a sense it's all just hydraulic fluid, it's just the additives and the types of metals and components and temperatures the fluid interacts with that determines if it's going to be ok for a brake system or clutch system etc. But only the mfg. would really know that so I wouldn't go experimenting.

The PS reservoir cap actually says use Dexron ATF.

I also use RL D6 for powersteering.

Been using D6 for long time.
The RL PS fluid looks to have a higher VI and higher viscocity at 100 degrees. So better heat stablitity which comes at the cost of lower flow.

So maybe RL PS is better for track? NOt sure if you'll feel any stiffness due higher viscocity.?

I think the D6 is fine for DD and range of tempratures specially for cold flow.
