Problem opening the trunk?
I've searched this forum and haven't seen anything regarding trunk bumper problems, so hopefully it's not an additional thread.
Anyone else having a problem with their trunk not opening in cold weather? When I press the trunk release button, the trunk pops up halfway but I can't open it because it's still "latched". Usually, pushing the release button again would solve the problem but it got to a point where I couldn't open it at all. The bumpers (or "springs" or "poppers" depending on who you're talking to) have been replaced twice by the dealer and I've only had my car for 16 months. Only happens when it's cold out...I'm in San Diego so my definition of cold weather is 50F. My question: Are these things known to fatigue after time? Has anyone else experience something similar? It seems to be working now with the new bumpers but it's only been a week. |
