Another "Which Battery" thread . . .
My battery conked out on me a couple months ago. Since I was planning on keeping my car garaged through the winter anyways, I went ahead and just disconnected the dead battery and have been letting the car sit ever since. I tried searching through old threads regarding replacement batteries, but it seems like for every suggestion, there's somebody else claiming that it's crap.
Since I've been working from home due to the pandemic, I really only drive my Z a handful of times a week. I don't take my Z to the track (I have before, but it's a rare occasion). My Z is also stored through the winter months (connected to a battery tender). That being said, does anybody have any recommendations on good replacement batteries? Or recommendations on which ones to stay away from?

With a tender keeping the battery on full, anything from the cheapest group 35 lead acid, to AGM, to Lithium Ion (not all battery tender work with Li however) will work.
Just a matter of how much you wanna spend. 3 VQ37's with 3 different tier batteries here.

For a DD that's kept on a battery tender, it's not going to make enough difference to matter.

Best bet is a battery tender through the winter. If I don't use one the Z eats batteries.
Group 35 is the standard size from the factory, but I believe a group 24 will also fit. Recommended a minimum of 585 CCA. I prefer to go higher, as it's the Midwest. I think my next battery will be an AGM type, instead of the archaic lead/acid type. |

Had to chime in as this is pretty relevant to me at the moment.
2014 Base 6 speed, stock battery, just failed to start first time. Are they supposed to last this long? Just gonna go Optima red or yellow top, but may invest in a tender this next year.

See other thread: Battery Life
Battery life depends on many factors, outside of "quality". If you are going to let the car sit, use a Battery Tender. I drive my car once every 2 weeks and sits in the garage the other times. I use the Battery Tender once a month, and she cranks up just fine. Personally, I use Duralast Gold and replace my battery every 5 years. Use the battery felt rings and terminal grease each swap.

On a side note regarding the Battery Tender, people tend to hook the car up to the tender after each drive, which IMO is worthless. Once the battery reaches full capacity, you have to let the battery discharge somewhat.
