Default A/C Not working

Hey guys i have a problem with my 2014 Nissan 370z, has 51k miles on it, everything has been working right but my AC. I just recharged it like 2 months ago and it was working fine. But now when i turn my AC on i hear the fan click on the exhaust tone gets deeper but this only lasts about 3 seconds before the the fan turns off. Some days it works some days nothing at all, on the days it dose work, once my oil temps hits 190+ it will kick off and i wont have it working anymore. Recently took it to a shop and they had the car idle for 40min AC on full blast and it wasn’t doing what i had mentioned. They checked the pressure and apparently it was holding just fine. Ive spoken to a few co workers who think the compressor might be bad, any ideas? Any help is appreciated!

My first guess is that you have a pressure switch going out. The system thinks the pressure is too high or low and is shutting down.

There are troubleshooting procedures in the FSM (link in sig).

Not at this point. I'm just making a guess based on my previous experiences with car A/C. See if the FSM or another forum member can help you find the root problem before you start "fixing" things.

Checking the wiring is a good idea. The FSM will have wiring diagrams, wire colors, etc.

SouthArk370Z meant that the problem might be the pressure switch itself regardless the pressure of refrigerant in the system.

Does the outside temp read on the dash display? If not, then the ambient temp sensor could be damaged. This does affect how your AC works. Mine was damaged by a rock.
The sensor is located in front of the radiator in the middle attached to the center vertical support bar. It is visible from in front of the car just barely above the cross bar.

There are some other sensors that also affect the AC function. The Intake sensor, the in-vehicle sensor and the sunload sensor. THE 2014 370Z FSM has details in section HAC on page 23 and onward. Check there also. It could help.

Can you tell me how much they charged? I had it diagnosed at the dealership, and they quoted me 1890 to replace it.
