Default Engine problems when making right turn. Help please.

So when making a right turn, spiritedly, my car seems like it goes into limp mode when rolling in the throttle coming out of the turn. Doesn’t seem to do it on left turns. It’s intermittent too during the turn where i can keep the throttle at the same spot and power goes on and off. Almost like a wire isn’t fully connected and flickers, but only on right turns.

I have stillen intakes, art pipes, and the rest of the exhaust.

It’s been throwing a p2a00 code which i have been clearing because i thought it was due to the art pipes. Maybe not, poor assumption?

Full tank too.

I used a scanner to log o2 readings but haven’t had the chance to review the logs.

Any thoughts?

Thanks guys! I will look into that. I thought fuel problems were from left turns so I disregarded fuel hat issue.

Just the opposite, right hand turns. Try it with a full tank of gas and see if it still happens.

Just placed the order for the new hat. Thanks guys!

My issues have gotten worse. I can’t even accelerate too fast without hitting that imaginary brick wall.

Is it possible for any of the wiring to become exposed or unhooked and cause a spark within the tank?

Also, looking at install instructions they say you want to get to 1/8 tank before starting the procedure. Whats the risk or added difficulties being at say half tank? I feel like this thing is hanging by the wires, its so sensitive

I hope you got the CJM billet top hat and not another plastic OEM one

I haven't torn into my fuel system yet even though I know my top hat is broken, so I'm no expert. But I'm pretty sure I drove around (still fairly aggressively) with a busted top hat for nearly 10K before parking the car last year. All of the elements there are intended to be exposed to gas, so I think you're probably ok. Someone like Charles at CJM would have more knowledgeable insight.

As for the half tank, you'll just need to siphon it. I've heard people say it can be a pain to siphon through the gas fill neck but it's certainly easy from inside the vehicle once you get to it. Just have a fan handy to help clear out the fumes.

Disconnect the battery and you will be fine. The reason to have less fuel in the tank when doing this job is mainly to stop you from getting fuel everywhere and messing up the interior.

I had a sacrificial towel laid down, if you have a small 1gal bucket that helps too since you can lift the assembly straight up and drop it in the bucket
