Car stuck on "Lock" wont go into ACC

Hi guys,

My car got stuck yesterday in Lock mode.

I have done some research, smashed the unit under steering wheel with a rubber hammer and managed to get it into acc mode, then i pulled the fuse and it all worked. I tried to turn off the car and it was starting ok. Done it multiple times. Everything was fine.

However, today i had exactly the same issue. Car wasnt starting again and i had to smash the unit again and managed to get it going.

My Z is 2012 model.

Any advice?

Hmmm. It is still that unit under the steering wheel. I took it off, disconnected the harness and car wasnt moving beyond Lock state. However, i grounded the pink wire from that harness permanently to the chassis and the car starts now with no problems. Still not sure what the issue is

With pink wire grounded, car starts even without this unit connected. I guess, problem is solved...

Excellent info. My 2012 model has had the fuse pulled since I bought it 2 years ago but if I get any issues ill go hunting for that pink wire !
