Anyone has issues with their heated seats when placed on the "high" setting?
Both my driver and passenger side seats do not get nearly as warm when placed on the high setting. In fact, they barely get warm at all in the high setting. Set up an appointment at the dealer for them to look at in a few weeks. Just thought if anyone on this forum has the same issue. |

Odds of both heating elements going out is pretty low so I'd look at the wiring and controls that they have in common. FSM will have wiring diagrams and other info.

Keep in mind that it turns itself off after awhile on 'high' setting. I think mine does that between 20 to 30 min. That could be the reason why you feel it wasn't warm enough.
It doesn't do that on 'low' setting which is what I prefer for long distance drive. Quote:

No, the high setting does not do anything at all. I would turn it on high when I get in the car and the seat never get warm even after over 10 minutes of driving. Then it gets warm as soon as I switch the setting from high to low.

You are correct the weather here in Northern California is not too cold at all. But I the heated seats for my back. I doubt the issues I have has anything to do with the outside temp. The low setting is fine, but the high setting has little to no heat at all.

Well. got the car back. The dealer said Nissan the operation of my heated seats are normal. They said under the HIGH setting, only the bottom of the seat will heat up and depending on the internal temperature of the car the thermostat will regulate the duration of the "heating".
I think that was BS, but what can I do. Can anyone out there who has heated seats confirm that only the bottom will heat up, not the back under the "high" setting? |

The FSM will have a description of how the system is supposed to operate.

Mine does turn off by itself in the high setting, but not the low.
you mentioned the high setting didn't heat up at all in your earlier post. So which is it? Does your low setting heat up both the bottom and the back? I'll check mine and let you know next time I drive it. Quote:

Just tested mine today. The high setting warmed up both the bottom and back in about 1 min, then cool/shut off after about 5 min. It didn't appear to turn back on within the next 10 min. The low setting was on (bottom & back) without shutting off.
I recalled the high setting stayed on a bit longer during the Winter, maybe around 15 to 20min. It is 70+ outside in socal today. I'm not sure exactly how the high setting suppose to work, but it seems not very useful as it doesn't seem to turn back on after the initial shut/cool off. |

I have a 2015 with heated/cooled seats, 3 settings for each. After sitting all night, the high setting takes about five minutes to really get going well, and heats the seat and seatback very, very well, to the point I have to turn it from 3 to 2 or 1. Today it was 57F and with the windows open or top down I like heat on my back--it did that rather well.
However, on the 2015 Murano Platinum Limited, the driver's side seat heater which was working fine (it could almost cook me as well as the Z) now barely works for the seat/seatback. (I think the passenger's still works, but am unsure.) Nissan may have issues with some of the seat heating systems. The cooling systems aren't that great, either in the seats or A/C, possibly due to tightening government regulations making them less effective each year. |
