Car Won't Turnover
Was working on my audio install, everything from the head unit, axxess, reverse camera, two speakers, amps and all wires in, plus completely insulated the car covered in second skin products.
HU turned on - reverse camera worked great, was planning on doing the axxess manual setup until I saw the amp wasn't powering on. Long story short - about 3 hours of playing with different things. I couldn't figure out why the amp wasn't powering up... on the last attempt to power up I gave up started getting frustrated and impatient and that's when I left the negative cable in to play with the wires while power is going through. Got desperate and wanted to double check the voltages. Pulling the remote wire out I rubbed the ground wire I think and that's when it sparked and killed everything. Next I checked the fuses by the battery and by the feet - the feet had a 10A fuse designated for Audio/Mirror that was the blown fuse. I haven't checked the big fuse box under our engine yet, was out there until midnight and in 30º weather just finally called it a night. It's hard to work on it during the day given I do 7am-7pm type of work on the usual. I'm thinking of taking off midday today to get some daylight work on it. Now that I fixed that fuse I figured let me start the car and that's when I found out of a new issue - it won't turn over. Starts like it's going to turn on and lets a normal growl then dies. I have enough time maybe like 2-3 seconds of gas pedal play to feed it but dies in the process. Could it be the battery - when I checked it's voltage it was ready at about 11.8v. I did play with the car several times trying to turn this amp on so it wouldn't surprise me if the battery needs to be charged but still would it not allow it turnover like this? Could it be anything else being since I just did some electrical no-nos... Any ideas are appreciated thanks... |

Oh and just remembered - I tried to get some codes read but to my surprise my code reader wouldn't connect. I got Blue Driver Bluetooth OBD tool. It had been working great with my other cars until last night it wouldn't connect to the my phone. Normally it connects while in the "On" position but this time it wouldn't and the device would have a red blinking light. Speaking of blinking lights - also noticed the Axxess module was blinky red and green super fast not sure if that is an identification of anything specific.

I have the glove compartment open and I can see the filter. I'll do some more research, anyone have ideas what I'm wanting to look for and what to do to make sure all connections are good? Does the ecm come with a fuse?
Quick side note - would the fact that I still have all of the center console and all the wiring that comes along with removing all the panels in the cabin disconnected? Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk |

So the code just pops up if you have the battery disconnected longer than 24hours so that doesn't mean anything...
Anyone know of a certain plug or sensor that prevents the car from starting. I do have both seats and all the center console open I just ordered the Metra 40-NI12 Antenna Adapter which I didn't think was necessary before but I found a post by Kenchan saying that the antenna needs to be plugged in to start.. anyone got confirmation on this? Any other sensors/plugs that will prevent the car from starting? After I receive this adapter there will be 2 other plugs that won't be plugged in from what I can see in the center console. |

P0603 sounds like you scrambled some of the ECM's memory. I'd try disconnecting one of the battery posts, step on brake pedal for a few seconds, and reconnect battery post. That should reset the ECM.

Oops. I forgot to mention that it will take a few minutes for the ECM to relearn the engine. IIRC, pollution control system will take a few trips to signal it is ready (will fail a smog check until then) and the radio presets and windows may need to be reset (several threads on these).

Yeah I get all that thanks for the help.
If anyone ever goes through something similar, resetting it by disconnecting wasn't working for me so I did the gas pedal method and worked perfectly just follow this method from this guy on a G. https://youtu.be/95WszTnphPI Sent from my HTC6500LVW using Tapatalk |
