Default Coolant leaking

I had a leak about two months ago, Replaced the hose that was damaged and it was fine for about two weeks. Then I noticed I was losing coolant again and then I realized the radiator had cracked(a cheap aftermarket one that was put in when I got in an accident). Got a new CSF Triple pass and its been good but now the over flow tank keeps letting coolant out through its own "overflow hose". Could this be because of the new radiator? Would I need a new higher pressure rad cap or something? Any help appreciated. Also this I have a 2012 with the oem oil cooler so I have a pressurized overflow tank.

It sounds like you need to drain some coolant from your coolant reservoir. Check the coolant level as stated in the instructions of the owners manual. If your coolant level is higher than the max mark, use a sucker or something along those lines to bring the coolant level to the max mark.

Or are you sure you don't have another leak coming from the area of the coolant reservoir?

You need to be sure that the original problem did not result in a damaged head gasket.

If the accident damage caused coolant loss and the engine overheated to the extent that a head gasket was damaged, you are now getting exhaust gas into the cooling circuit and this is pressuring the coolant and forcing coolant out of the overflow.

You can test the coolant for the presence of combustion gases (actually carbon monoxide).

You really need to rule this out before going much further.

Bottom line is that this issue (if it is failed head gasket) can be traced directly back to the accident damage AND ought to be covered by your insurance and/or repair warranty.

First order of business is to establish whether you have a simple leak issue OR failed ehad gasket which is pressurising the coolant circuit.

I'd try a higher pressure rad cap first as it is cheap. Is the water temp higher than normal?
