Default "Stuck" hatch release

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already or not. I was reading the poll on the stuck hatch release because I had the same problem. The fix was to buy new springs at $30 a pop or complain to your dealer and hope to get it done free. Well, I got home today and figured if it is JUST the spring, it's probably just smushed down and doesn't have the bounce it once had. Fair assumption right? Well, all I did was take the spring off (just twist and pull) and kind of stretch them back out. I put them back on and the hatch popped up no problem. I don't know how long this will last but who cares honestly, it took not even 2 mins and it's free. Hope this helps some of you. Again, sorry if this is a repeat of an already mentioned fix.

Depointfive0 posted a DIY for the weight in the hatch removal. That worked for me the best. Here's the link in case u have issues again which u most likely will.
