Default '13 Roadster with multiple issues

Bought new '13 Roadster on Jun 1st '14, In August Plastic Pieces started to stick out of the side of the top new the window at the 2nd bow. Went to dealer, they scratched their head, called the local top shop for advice. New top ordered cuz the parts came unglued from fabric. 1 week later took Z back to dealer,4 days later not only was the top cover replaced but the complete headliner cuz it was cracked on the inside and the elastic tension straps. Took car back home, told to not drop the top for 7 days. On the 8th day dropped the top took the Z for a spin. After we got back started to put the top back up when heard a snap and then a rip. number 3 bow had snapped at the pivot point and tore thru the top. Also the lower window seal and weather strip that goes along the back of top fell off along with it's retainer clips. New top cover ordered along with window seals and clips. Back to dealer for 4 more days at the dealer, all of the parts installed. After another 7 days of not being able to put the top down, dropped the top to go for a spin. Upon return, as I was raising the top my wife noticed a split in the window/ weather strip. You guessed it back to dealer for another window/weather strip to be ordered. I have since started a Lemon Law case to have Nissan buy back the car. wish me luck

Angry more top problems

As I lowered the top the rear window seal fell out. Back to the dealer to have it reinstalled again.

A definite candidate for lemon law claim

But it maybe that the dealer may not have good experience in the roadster leading to most of your problems.

Hope you get it resolved one way or another.

Default Back to dealer again

Nissan has declared there is nothing wrong with my top or the seals. when I mentioned Arbitration, they decided to go further. On 12/22/14 a factory rep from Tennesse is meeting with me to inspect all RO's, the car and then make a decision . I will keep all posted.

Ridiculous man GL. My only suggestion if Nissan won't lemon it is to find another dealer that has more experience with roadsters.

Default Problems repaired for Now

The last visit to the dealer involved technicians from the factory. Both of the window motors and controls have been replaced. So far no more water leaks at the windows. The Lemon Law claim has been closed with a document from Nissan which gaurantees the top repairs and window seals for free repair or replacement as long as I own the car. I don't know if it will pass to any new owner if I sell it. My wife says we have worked hard for them to get it right so now it will remain our Bucket Car.

Do you have any pic that you can post on the plastic parts and the top? I too have a 2013 roadster.
I have had mine since Dec 2014 – not a single problem. Hope it stays that way. Sorry to hear about all your trouble.

It sounds like they treated you right anyway. I had top trouble with my '12. Took it to "used to be Maita'. They brought in a Nissan expert who fixed it right first time. It was a big deal with ordering parts and waiting for the expert but the dealer handled it right.
