TwisTEDinLV,
Since your post I've searched 3 different Nissan Parts sources ... and none of them support that part number. I know that's what's stamped on the back of the part, but it is unobtainable from Nissan as a separate part. It, I believe, is only purchased as part of the entire roof assembly. As crazy as that sounds, that's how Nissan has approached many of the parts for the convertible top. You have 4 choices: - buy the entire top assembly for some $13 000 - find a wrecked convertible for the part - search eBay for the part - or fix yours with a high quality two part automotive epoxy. Using whatever small broken pieces you have, as well as the cover on the opposite side of the car as a copy, use the epoxy to harden into the rough shape for the fastening portions of the cover. Then using a Dremmel tool, shape them to size and shape and drill any holes for the fasteners as needed. These new automotive epoxy are amazing. With properly prepped broken surfaces, the epoxy can adhere to anything and become part of the fixture, and is even stronger than the original material. Gene |

Thanks Gene. I found the trim piece (complete assembly including rolebar covers ) for around $2-250. Might just buy the complete thing so I can mold in my rear camera for my dash cam. Thanks for looking. I was hitting dead ends looking for jet the one piece.
That said, is there a way at to move the top up/down without the key or a battery? Might hit a pick-a-part but want to be ready to actuate he top. |

TwisTEDinLV,
Glad to hear that you found the part, albeit comes as an assembly of sorts. I hope you find a wrecked roadster for the part, as that may take some time. Check your owner's manual, as the procedure is explained there. To store the top ..... It involves undoing two bolts that hold the locking bar to the 5th bow, and its done from inside the car. As well, the two locks at the windshield header need unlocking using the allen key tool in the tool kit. After that, you remove the plastic panel in the trunk to pull the two release cables that unlock the mechanism, and with the help of a friend you pull the entire top assembly up, and so on. Study the explanation carefully as it is involved, and you don't want to do any damage. Gene |
