Default Spoiler alert - black friday sale on roadster spoilers

Based on recommendations from a few forum members - including OldGuyFla (thank you sir) - I pulled the trigger on ordering a painted spoiler from Wing Tech (WingTech Aerodynamic Spoilers and Dash Kits) and can't wait to get it next week!

I told them about the forum (they were super cool on the phone) and he asked me to post that they are having a BLACK FRIDAY SALE on spoilers right now - not sure how long will last (prob through Christmas).

Mine was $257 painted/shipped - guy gave me his mobile number to call him with any questions during installation (if I get the nerve to do it myself - drilling holes in a car I've had 3 weeks?) - and gave me a range I should pay to have professionally installed if I go that way ($75-$125) - and warned me that those guys might trash-talk adding a spoiler - personally, I love the look with and without - but, def think it adds.

Any recommendations from experienced installers welcomed - can't wait to get it!

Installation is actually quite easy. Of course I do all sorts of mechanical stuff, so I guess it could be just me.

Check out these instructions: DIY: Roadster Spoiler Install

Just remember to be patient and measure, check, measure, check, measure some more, check some more. Look at how it sits around the trunk tail light. Measure that a couple of times. Then drill.

I also added a bead of silicone across the front just in front of the foam. Nothing that can be seen once it's installed. The idea was to keep water from flowing under the spoiler. I left gaps at the rear so if it did get in it'd be able to get back out. Three years and no problems yet.

Glad to.

A couple of tips:

Don't use it as a handle. You might get away with it, but the trunk lid is aluminum. Why make it angry?

Don't just flip the trunk closed from full open - drop it from six or eight inches. It'll be a lot heavier than it was.

All of Bummer's tip above are great, especially about adding a bead of silicone along the upper edge of the spoiler. I did the same thing, that will keep water from draining down through it. There have been members that have gotten water to collect in their spoilers.

Here is another good DIY for the install. DIY Roadster Spoiler Install with Pics

Here is what I did to adjust for level & centering.
Photo 1 I used a string & judged the level of the spoiler with the 3rd brake light.
Phot 2 I judged the centering by the distance on each side of the brake light. It looks a little off in the photo but it's just the angle of the photo I think.

Be careful if you decide to have it installed for you. There have been reports of members not having a good outcome. Not level & or centered. Choose a good shop. Some don't really care too much.

You can do it yourself, just take your time and measure and remeasure again
