Questions: The Sequel
Alright guys, I've asked for some input before and I will ask a few more questions. I could use some guidance and clarification.
To explain a little, I've been looking for a 370z sport recently. I have done a lot of research in the past 8 months on the 370z. So I'm figuring this is getting around the best time to buy a new Z, however the local Nissan dealers in my area are not the best. I went in and they wanted to charge me 34500 for a sport Z and won't negotiate prices. I showed them cars on autotrader and in Texas that were 30600 and 31000 for sports but they wasn't having it. So I guess I have a few stupid questions but I want to educate myself. 1) What's the average or reasonable price for a basic sport package? 2) What's the best time to buy a car? Keep in mind, winters in NoLa are not bad. So I don't know if the winter effects our price. 3) Do car dealerships not go out and get cars anymore? sorry for the noob questions but I'm flustered.

The market in Texas isn't going to have much to do with the market in New Orleans. If they can sell it for $34,500, that's what they'll ask for it. If they can't sell it at that then maybe you can get it from them cheaper if you're will to wait. Why don't you just go buy the car in Texas?
Reasonable price? Around here, $34,500 would be very reasonable. Apparently in Texas $31,000 is reasonable. Sure. Some dealers will go get a car for you. Mine drove over 1000 miles round trip to pick up mine. Then he actually delivered it to my door on the truck (it was winter in Minnesota, and he's 90 miles away). Of course, he charged me $37,000+ (Touring/Sport). The two caveats that apply here are:

Nothing is keeping you from going to Texas (or elsewhere) to buy a Z. I travelled quite a ways to get my Z because my local dealer would not get me what I wanted (or anything close) for less than sticker. It's a PITA but much easier to get exactly what you want.
And I love it when someone from the local dealer's sales department calls to ask if I'm "still in the market for a new Z." |

Both are good responses. Trying to secure the deal before I go find myself some debt. I can't wait sadly LOL.
