350z owner thinking about a new 370z
Hello Fairlady friends. For the last 8 years my 03 Super Black w/Burnt Orange Touring (6MT) has been keeping a smile on my face. Recently, I've been looking into trading up to a 370z. I've done a few test drives including a nismo (very fun) and with the current incentives from Nissan I'm seriously considering making the move.
The dealership made an offer on a new black 2014 MT base. I don't believe it had the sports package which I would prefer if possible. You might be able to tell from the pic. I enjoyed the test drive but was not exactly blown away from what my current 350z offers but it is brand new and my fairlady is only getting older. The new interior was nice for cloth but my touring has heated leather. The clutch also seemed to be a little springy vs the clutch on the 350. I would compare it to a crisp 3lb trigger vs a sloppy factory trigger on a firearm. Anyone else think so? Maybe it's something I would get use to and not really notice. I realize I'm asking this question on a 370z forum but I would guess that a few of you were once 350 owners too. Any rumors on new 2015 models other than the nismo? Should I wait a bit longer or is this a good price? The 0% financing does help make the offer sweet. Sale price: $32,100 Trade in: $9,500 (other dealers were around $7,500) Tax and Fees: $202 Total: $22,802 |

that doesn't look like a base, nor does the price reflect so. it has big brakes.
you can get it cheaper i think. lots of people remove the clutch helper spring which drastically improves clutch feel so don't be worried about that

I had a 350Z (Enthusiast) back in '11 that I trade for my first 370Z (Sport/Touring). As far as just "cruising" the difference is definitely not "blow me away" especially if you have the '07/'08 but there is some difference. I don't really think the clutch feels any different, nor does the transmission really. The steering is a bit more sporty feeling. Versus an '03, the 350Z will have more power (torque) on the low end and a lot less on the top end.
If you've had the leather, heated seats, etc. and use them and would miss them, I'd wait for a touring. Sport/touring MT is not hard to find in about any color you want. The base 370Z interior is nicer than the 350Z base interior, but the Touring is a whole different thing. Anyway, I bought mine because it was improved and I thought I wanted all of the interior upgrades and features of the Touring (nicer stereo, heated power seats, etc) but then I realized I didn't use any of that stuff anyway and I bought a NISMO. It's all in what you want, but it sounds to me like you enjoy the creature comforts, hold out for a Touring/Sport or even just a Touring if you don't care about SRM or the bigger brakes and wheels. |

Just my opinion..
I think you will be disappointed going from your Touring to that base w/ sport package as pictures above (although im not exactly sure its the Sport package, cause I don't see a spoiler????). The base stereo sucks, the leather seats feel better and have lumber support adjustment (unlike the base seats), power seats, Bose stereo, ETC, ETC. I had a 370Z with the sport package and i'm in a Touring now...I cant tell the difference between the sport brakes and the non-sport brakes I have now (I don't track my Z) YOU'RE GOING TO MISS THOSE CREATURE COMFORTS.... anyway....congrats on your future Z purchase!!!!!

I x3 the idea to get touring. I skimped on my first 370Z, biggest regret ever, finally straightened it out but it cost me a lot more in the long run. If you appreciated those features, def hold out until a touring/sport comes along. Just an FYI, I got mine about a little over a grand under invoice, no reason you couldn't as well.
