Default How to sell my car??

I have a 2010 Black Base car with 38,300 miles, 6 speed, tinted glass. Never been raced or driven hard, always garaged. The local dealer wants me to trade my car plus $9000 miles for a very similar 2014 Z.

I feel I can do better by selling my car privately. Do you recommend Craigslist, local papers, Autotrader? what is the best site to get good responses? If I do better than $20.5k, I will be ahead.

Comments/suggestions?

You can always get more selling your car, as opposed to trading it in to a dealer. Kelley Blue book will provide all the information you need to value of your car.

If you wish to sell your car, I find that Autotrader is your best resource.

However, why bother selling our car just to get the same one? It makes no economic sense. I'd wait 18 months for the new Z.

Dealer offer = bend over. Unless you're into that stuff. Go somewhere else.

Park at a busy corner street with a "For Sale" sign? that's how people do it here where I live lol or you can try Autotrader, CL is sketchy, I wouldn't sell my car there.

I've sold my own by using auto trader and ybb.com. use craigslist also. Free exposure.

I think dealerships have a special promotion going on this weekend..so you might be able to get a lower price if for the Z in stock. I've gotten emails about 1600-3000 dollars below invoice from dealers on all stock Z's ....about selling what ppl mentioned before but it will not be a quick sell i think...GL

Are you sure there will be a new Z in 18 months, that it would have a V6 and that it would be priced in the $30-$35k range???

If I can sell my car privately, I can buy a later model sports package or a 2014 Base model without looking for a trade.

Sly Nic is on a distinguished road
Default AutoTrader

I advertised my old car on Autotrader before I bought my Z. I regret it. I was bombarded with scammers and auto brokers to the point of tears.

I sold it through Kijiji instead.

Never again (and especially now that I am selling my other car - a Mini Cooper S).
wheee! likes this.

ZeeBabar, I'm just speculating. However, for $9000 I'd go FI or add more mods -- maybe new wheels and a body kit. However, if you can sell your car for what you want, then go for the 2014.

You can also post it as FS on here -- look at KBB for a reasonable price to ask.

Unless you need a new car and are in no position to be without one while you wait for yours to sell, which does not appear to be the case, sell it privately.

You are always screwed on a trade-in.
