Carfax Accident - The Horror
Carfax accident has no detail on a 2009 I'm looking hard at. How do you ferret out what happened? Price is good due to accident probably. Looks immaculate in detailed pictures and I can have her brought to me to see/drive. Who do you call? Ghost Busters? Car was sold at action so no previous owners are available. Can’t make the mistake of purchasing to find out down the road she is FU. Scary. Please give advice.

You can take a small oil sample and send it to blackstone labs for an oil analysis to check the motors wear. A compression test wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Pop panels, wheels and check for orange peel/uneven paint in door jams etc. will tell you where it was painted, check alignment, compression test motor, drive it, shift it, should be good to go.

if u don't feel like buying it and is afraid, just find another deal.
u gonna regret about it later and thoughts that something is wrong with it will haunt you for a long time |

honestly, accident or not, it may or may not make a difference. Some cars have perfectly clean titles but may have suffered a lot of abuse from the owner. But a car that has been in couple accidents may have an owner who is a perfectionist and had the car fixed the right way everytime. My money would be on the car with the accident that lasts longer in that scenario. The best way to make a choice is to examine the car yourself or with someone who knows what to do. Having a clean title is a false sense of security sometimes.

Accident and auction does not mean much, when I traded my 2010 BMW at Nissan, it went next day to a wholesale and auction company as well. My wife drove her previous 2010 Golf TDI into the rear off another car and just had some scratches which we took care of, no body damage, just paint scruff marks, but when we traded it in for her new car, it came up as an accident. I don't trust Carfax much, as some or the reports might just minor repairs. Try to contact the previous owner or dealer, it should be listed on the report.

Not surprised by that. Carfax only shows what is reported to them. People are fooled by their marketing to believe that they have ALL the info on any vehicle... So far from the truth.
I was duped by another outfit for a vin search that promised all the info I could ever want about a car I was about to purchase, all I got was a list of 2 previous owners when they registered the car. Worst $6 I ever spent....lol
