2013 370z touring+sport 7at -$41800
Just sharing a pricing story for anyone else looking.
Background: Had my eye open for a Z since the 370 released. Been a few years, but finally find myself ready to own one. Been casually looking for a local deal for the past year, and for the past 4 months have expanded my search. Sadly, the pickings in the midwest here have been slim, and I'm pretty particular about what I want (gun metal grey exterior). Price: So I'm heading in to "sign" on for delivery of a new 2013 370z touring+sport 7at with rearview backup camera and a few typical options for $41800 +TTL. (No trade-in, outside 2.49% loan, probably 10k down up front.) Could I have gone lower? Probably. Could I have gotten a better price in another state like TX, OK, AZ, CA? Slightly, but having it local to me has some value. |

That doesn't sound like the deal of the century, but also not the worst deal either.
So I think you did alright, and if you bought the car somewhere else you'd have to pay $600-2000 to ship it as well. At the end of the day, as long as you're happy, who gives a damn? Lol

This is what I always tell people, if you are happy with the deal then good job! There will always be someone that got a better deal either in real life or in their fictitious internet life.

The best place to find what's a good deal and what others are paying is going to edmunds.com. Punch in the options, color, and it will tell you what others are paying for the same car in your zip code. Good for anyone to get a good idea before they go shopping. I pretty much have the same car but its 12 and love it!!

Yup, I'm pretty much spot on with Edmunds.
I've been quiet on this since I'm not OTD with it quite yet. It's still en route, and while we've settled on the price, I still need to swat away the extra junk they'll try to put on top. But so far I've had a great experience with the salesguy I've been with, and it helps make things more streamlined since I'm coming in well-informed and researched. Drop a few terms like PDI and F&I and "dealer trade" and you get past some of the pretenses. I do like to leave TTL separate, only because there's really nothing I can do about it. If I went out of state, it wouldn't be part of the OTD anyway, since it would be on me to do it. And I'd save only about a $20 processing fee. :P My time is worth more than that. And it's hard to compare state-to-state when TTL differs. Last edited by ElVee; 04-10-2013 at 04:28 PM. |

Thought I should add to the pile here so in short...
2012 Gunmetal Touring/Non-Sport - $33,500. (NEW) Negotiated an extra $1,300 on my trade (they wanted to give me $17,200, I said $18,500) So add that in and I indirectly negotiated down to $32,200. The equity out of my trade gave me a $9,800 down-payment and in turn I purchased the wheel/tire replacement plan and the 75k mile extended warranty. With all of that plus dealer processing fee (insane in Virginia), TTL, and warranty/protection plan I signed for $29,300 OTD. Always look for the internet price and then go in and don't mention a thing about an internet price. Just negotiate to that price point. They'll hate you for it every time. |
