Take pictures with a date time stamp on it, make note of every little thing, and you should be fine. I shipped mine from cali to ct not enclosed and it was fine, dirty but nothing wrong with it.

No tips really, just make sure you are with the driver when he comes and does his inspection. Which transporter are you going with? I had my Z shipped with Allied Transports, enclosed trailer from TX to WA. I had some issues with the initial pickup, but after that it made it to WA safe and sound.

I know it is a no brainer for the shipping company (or should be), but make sure they strap your car down in the trailer and tightly to the tie down locations. I had a friend a few years ago sell his 911 (993) turbo to someone across the country, and had it shipped in a enclosed container trailer. The shipper did not tighten the straps down, and the car rocked forward and backward upon every braking, causing damage to the front of the car.

Also, most companies will let you put a car cover on the car if you want, and have your own.

I've shipped a couple cars and the most important thing you can do is make notes and take lots of pictures.

Your car should make it in perfect condition

If your car is on the bottom make sure they are covering it with a plastic sheet so it doesn't get any oil on it from a potential leaker.

Also a couple of threads

having a car shipped from cali to nj

Car transport

Take date stamped pictures and get the carrier to sign off on the condition. Also, doesn't help to load up the extra spaces with kilos of coke and make extra money as a mule.
