Default Winter tire reminder

For those brave souls who drive their vehicles during the winter months in the snow belt and have dedicated wheels for their snow tires, make sure to keep five of the original lug nuts in your trunk in the event you need to mount the spare tire. Most likely, the winter wheel lug nuts will not work on the spare.
Winter sucks and it's colder than hell here.....

Since I'm using a spare pair of stock rims, I think I'm good. I will just have to deal with the TPMS icon since I didn't put them in my snow tires. No snow here yet, but temps are in the 30s and the Advans don't like it. They've been very unhappy, lots of chirping and grumbling till they heat up.

Good tip! I was sorely tempted to brave the winter here, but I just couldn't do it. I ended up buying a 2007 Nissan Xterra to cover me during the dark times of winter.

The snow gets very deep here, bad ruts, huge amounts of sand/salt used on the roads, and millions of small fender benders. Too risky.

It is usually not too bad here, last winter was the worst it's been. They are predicting more snow than last year, so I've been proactive and let my work know I'll be in when the apartment complex gets the drives cleared. If there is more than 6", I'm not going to be in, especially for the auto parts store. Not risking my car for $32 before taxes...

And possibly a different wrench. I got stuck last year because the whole on my winter wheels are tiny and the factory wrench won't fit.
Pretty sure I made up some new curse words when I got a flat.
