Default Warranty suggestions or advice.?.?.?.?

little over a year ago i bought an 09 sport at carmax with 12k miles on it. Got the xtended warranty on it. After getting intake, test pipes with full catback exhaust and then an uprev tune... I was told by the tuner and carmax service guys that because of the tune it would void the warranty for the motor. So I cancelled the warranty and about $1,300 went toward the pay off. I owe far less than the cars worth but that's not really important. The car now has 38k on it and every time i go WOT, a little voice in my head says "hey bro what if you blow your motor" (ya the d-bag voice in my head says bro....but i do drive a z).

Here's my question.... Any suggestions for a warranty that would give me peace of mind. Or should i just cross my fingers for another 2 years till i trade up? I'm not hard on the motor at all WOT maybe 3-5 times a week.

I wouldn't worry about blowing the engine. As long as you bought your used car in a pristine condition with proper care and frequent oil change, I don't think insurance is necessary. A 370z N/A engine blowing up is really rare. It's a solid engine imo. Turbos, on the other hand, can cause your engine to go KA-BOOM! with improper set-up and tune. There are few members here who blew their engines with turbochargers.

Might not blow, but oil consumption is the same

Like jaedub said as long as you bought it in good condition you shouldn't worry. I bought mine used but had an issue with rods and had short block replaced, then within a year valve cover leaks, etc but I blame those issues on sorry mechanics.

What's your rev limiter now with tune?

Keep the stock rev limiter and keep up on maintenance and you should be fine. The next time you change your oil, send a sample out to blackstone labs and have it analyzed. Other than that, as long as you're not using oil, you're fine.

figure out how much it might cost to do the repairs. then set aside some cash every time you get your paycheck and save it.

i do this too. i can rebuy my Z a few times over cash if something happened to her. this takes off a lot of the headache. insurance (not talking car insurance) and monetary buffer is a good thing to have. if your car ends up not having issues, you can use that fund to buy your next car.
