Doing some research on what SS brake lines to get for my 2014 Sport. Seeing how there are sets for $100 retail, I don't get why these are not coming

Why aren't SS brake lines standard?

The average person out there probably won't push the brakes enough to warrant needing those straight from the factory. I've actually been told conflicting things about SS lines and their benefit which never made much sense to me seeing as it seems like all the aftermarket big brake kits come with them.

Cost is the reason.

Even track I'd bet. The GTR does a 7:08 now on the nurburging. I doubt they have issues. I believe they're on newer year 370's though. Maybe 12+.

i have friends who have swapped their lines / pads / fluid for track events... Stuff that's good for the track is not always good for normal use. Even higher end cars need some prep for extended abuse.
Example: The GTR doesn't come out of the factory with aggressive pads... they would constantly be squeaking.

The only benefit that ss has over normal steel brake lines is corrosion resistance. Agree with some others that it would be an unnecessary cost to install ss.
