Default ? regarding boofsquire

Just picked up a Yakima Viper and installed it onto the boofsquire. For some reason I can't seem to get the boofsquire tight enough to cinch down on the car - it just slides around if I push on it. The little straps on the sides are maxxed out. What am I doing wrong (I feel retarded).

The only thing I can think of would be to wedge extra padding (like a rubber cushion or terry cloth) under each of the mounts.

I know not too many people on the forum have one of these but any help would be wonderous.

Not trying to be a jerk, and I'm sure you have already checked their site FAQ, but just in case I checked and I found this on there... not sure if it helps:

I just installed the Roof Rack on my Z, how do I stop from shifting?

Tighten all of the Lock Down Straps equally. Shifting is a result of loose or unevenly tightened Lock Down Straps. After installation the Roof Rack will go though a settling period where it will shift around small amounts until the tension on all of the straps has equalized.
So maybe it's just going through the settling period?

It can move an inch laterally, I don't think the settling would account for that.

I saw 3 Z's with roof racks, all had terry cloths under them. I thought it was to protect car, maybe it was fitment issues?

I have terry cloths under them too (for both the reasons you listed).

I'd consider a seasucker but one of my buddies had a bad (read: bike on interstate) experience.
