Default Nismo with snow tires?

Has anyone driven there 370z Nismo in the snow? I know theres a bunch of information about a 370z in the snow but very recent on the nismo in the snow. No I dont want a beater for the winter either. Anyone tried using snow tires? If so how were your results?

Thanks..

i imagine it would be like using any other rwd car in the snow, i know it doesnt snow where im at but during winter, i usually keep 40lbs of salt in the trunk to help out with traction when it rains

The tires are one thing, Don't forget about the front lip!!! Once snow starts to pile up, it is safe to say you will have the coolest snowplow on the street.

It's not the snow that would scare me, it's the road salt. If I lived where it snowed, I'd buy a $2k Craigslist beater. If someone hit it, oh well.

We get some snow here. The last few years there hasnt been much. Maybe 20 inches for the whole year. Normal snow falls are under 3 inches. They do salt the roads and the factory rims on the nismo arent chrome so I dont think it would hurt them. Maybe im wrong??

I'm more concerned about the underside of the car. Good luck getting any bolts off ever again after a few seasons of road salt.

I've put my Z through 2 winters now. Snow tires are a must. I never had too many clearance issues as our winters in Toronto have been on the milder side lately. Then again, I'm not lowered.

The biggest issue is the salt's effect on the car. Chuck has a point re: the bolts rusting. I noticed that there's a bit of rust underneath my car when I saw it on a car lift at the dealership.

yep. from my experience, i saw that the metals on the undercarriage age about 3x as fast if driven in the salty winter vs hibernating. honestly i made the mistake of driving my G in the winter thinking i'd retire her last year. i should not have done it since i decided to keep her longer.

also clearbra the front bumper. the salt bits and other kickup makes tiny chips.

it is a good idea to wash the under carriage in the Spring and touch up the metals with black enamel. also cleaning the rust off the bolt heads using a soft wire brush, and putting a light coat of WD40 on them (wipe on, not spray on as it could loosen) will make the bolts last A LOT longer.
