Used Zs
I am contemplating purchasing a used roadster, but I would like to know what landmine \ issues I might encounter. I am also wondering why someone would spend $40K and decide that to sell it. I suppose that some will 'discover' a 2-seater is not appropriate for their situation, but I'm wondering if there are other (good) reasons, that I should be aware of.
Any useful data points are appreciated. Thank you. |

You can check the roadster section and see if there are any members that mention any issues that come up.
Nissan 370Z Roadster (Convertible) - Nissan 370Z Forum I'd imagine with a soft top that there will be issues with the top, closing/opening feature thingy, leaking, etc. But all can be maintained if you know what you're doing. I honestly don't know since I have the coupe version. Coupes are lighter than the roadster, so I guess people get rid of the vert and go with the coupe to save a few pounds? or maybe because of additional family members, practicality, etc...I know if/when my parents aren't able to drive themselves anymore or when I start a family, I'll be moving onto a sedan Last edited by enkei2k; 11-02-2012 at 04:36 PM. |

That's funny. The reason i BOUGHT mine was retirement beckoned. Moral of the story: Everyone's different. No pat answer to the question. Just get the CarFax and spend a hundred bucks for a mechanic to carefully check it over. By the way, I love my '09 coupe. No problems at all.

Not even 40 and just bought mine b/c I wanted a Z and the wife thought the convertibles look better. It increased my budget but it will be worth it. Top down days will be ones to remember.

i bought my nismo used and the previous owner traded it in cause he wanted the 2012 model(that one has an oil cooler while the 2011 doesnt)
needless to say, the car doesnt have any problems and it runs like its brand new(even after i drive it like i stole it) these cars are well built as someone else has said, so unless you start having problems, i wouldnt worry about it(plus you have a warranty on the car so that helps out alot) |

There are a lot of well kept Z's being sold on this site at a reasonable price. Heck, I bought mine from a member off this site. I purchased it with 10k mi and haven't had any issues. Some people have no issues burning money and taking a loss when selling their nearly new Z. I'm not one of those types. |
