Replacing Battery Question

Sorry if this is the wrong section. But will need to replace my battery soon before the dead of winter. anyway the dealer is telling me it will run about

Default Replacing Battery Question

Sorry if this is the wrong section. But will need to replace my battery soon before the dead of winter. anyway the dealer is telling me it will run about 160.
yeah that's high. but he's telling me if not done right the computer will have to be reset. is that true and he's just trying to rip me off...

Bullshiit, buy yourself an Optima battery (you can find them for $160 shipped online, have a shop beat that price) and make sure you connect POSITIVE first...

I had to reset my windows but besides that no issues. I went with a PC680 battery that is 21 pounds lighter than stock.

Disconnect the NEGATIVE FIRST...

The reason why you want to disconnect negative first and reconnect it last is because the Positive can spark (I forgot the more scientific term) and this can cause the ECU to short out, have I never seen it happen... BUT Nissan HAS released a bulletin for this issue

Even if the ECU is flashed, who cares? Reset your clock and radio stations, maybe your windows. That takes all of 5 minutes.
