Finally...local dealership gets a 13 Z...
First...you like what you like and I like what I like...that is the purpose of this forum.
There is a local Nissan dealership around the corner from my house. I have been checking for a few months to see if they had gotten a new Z...but they had not. Yesterday I decided to take a walk and to my surprise there was one that had just come off the truck. The dealership was closed so I took my time and really looked at it. I had seen photos online but to see one in person.....I don't like it. It looks like the 350Z. Its like Nissan just decided to go back instead of going forward. I'm sure they could have put those lights some place else instead of where they did. Its like someone said.."Hey just put them like we did the 350...they won't say anything." The car just doesn't look as aggressive as it had in previous years. And the wheels are kind of like they took a picture of the previous wheels in motion and made them from that image. I have a 2009 and I think it looks better and not because its my car. I sometimes don't understand Nissan. They seem to have a history of doing weird marketing. Look at the Maxima and the Altima. I thought the Maxima is their flagship but they treat it like a step child. I guess I can say that about the Z in some ways as you rarely see a Z commercial. Then they bring out the Altima to look very close to the Maxima. I know that they sell a lot more Altimas and they have to promote it..... There a thousands of Z lovers out there.....Nissan why don't you talk to them....some of them have some good ideas if you would listen. It would make you more money and give you happier customers. |

Did you just call "First!" on your own post?!
I thought the same thing too, until I went and saw them in person, then my opinion of it took a 180. I made sure to look at the Gun Metallic model, as the front end looks better on the darker colors (less noticeable fang-deletions). I liked the rims more once I saw'em in person too. Besides, I don't really have the option to buy a 2012 unless I want to spend extra money and go to Vegas (and subsequently spend more because I'll be in Vegas!) and drive it back. |

13
Picked up my 2013 a few weeks ago.....they only had 2 on the lot...and only 3 total...they made me a better deal on the 13...This is my first Z and other than seeing some running down the Road I did not really have anything to compare it to..as for later years...Mine is the Gun Metallic and I love it....taking some getting use to being I came out of a 2010 Ford F-150 but so far I am liking it....I did not know what to think of the day running lights at first..but in my crazy town and the way folks drive..they do help folks see ya...

I've learned to grow on it. Haboob is right, the darker colours are much prettier because you don't notice the fang deletions as much.
As far as it looking closer to the 350z, I completely understand. They've put the LEDs where the old turn signal indicators are, and tbh I don't really like how they did that. I never understood why they never added the LEDs to those little grooves that line your headlights. It seems like it was designed to be there, but it isn't. I think Nissan either has bad marketing on their part, or its probably because the Maxima was supposed to be competing with Camrys, Accords, and other V6 sedans. Problem is, the price is just too damn high when you compare it with those sedans. Therefore, the Altima 3.5 is a much better choice. IMHO, they need to remove the Maxima from their line and just stick that job to the G37 sedans. |

I agree
I agree about dealers not having many Zs. At least in my area.
My local dealer back when the 370Z first came out had over 15 units and as I said, when I went by on Sunday. He had only one 13 and a maybe two used ones. |
