I couldn't find a pic or link to the one I like, but it is a small cushion that is slightly contoured against the lower back. The seats in the Z are the worst re: lack of lumbar support that I have found for my particular back pain, but that little cushion helps immensely when I hit a bump.

Back pain is very individualized, so what works for me might not be best for you. I tried several small cushions before finding one I was satisfied with. Good luck!

Sciatic nerve issues are a nightmare.

If it's the piriformis pressing on the sciatic nerve, then the solution will be stretching it, massaging it and it should stop eventually.

If the issue is vertebrae related, i.e. slipped/herniated disc, then a pillow might help - a smaller pillow added just between your middle back and above your butt, to push the lumbar part of your spine more forward will help. Also, probably you want to raise the seat just a little bit.

My OE sport/touring seats have lumbar support. Are lower models missing said feature?

I have multiple bulging discs, spinal stenosis, and spinal arthritis to the point where when I'm at my worst I need to walk with a cane to prevent falling, shiver from pain, and have to pull myself up out of bed by one of the frame posts. All from 38 yrs old on when I was told I have the spinal health of someone twice my age!

My Doctor of Physical Therapy did what no chiropractor nor orthopedic surgeon could do with injections nor adjustments and put me on a regimen to correct it all other than what could be considered "typical soreness" with a pain level of no more than 2. As a result the sport Z seats are not an issue for me. My problem is seats that are too cushioned and always get relief even at my worst when sitting on a hard surface as then your bone structure takes over (by "design") rather than your soft tissue supporting your skeleton.

I have a base Sport Z and I do not have adjustable lumbar on my seats.

Just for reference: Touring sport Z (in Europe it was called pack) gets the driver adjustable lumbar support.

Gotcha, looks like per post #7 only touring got the lumbar adjustment so I made a edit to my post notating my model as sport/touring which I should have originally indicated.
