Default Anyone seeing good return on upgraded air filter/intake when doing a tune?

I've fitted an Invidia Gemini exhaust and AAR hiflow cats. Now I want to get a tune - I'm being offered both Uprev and Ecutek locally here.

I'm currently running stock air intakes and filters - just wondering if the cost and effort to upgrade either the filters only or the entire intake/filters will be worth it once the tune is complete?

I guess the only way to know for sure is if there is anyone on here he did a tune, then fitted an upgraded intake/filters and re-tuned so they have before and after results?

Otherwise I'm happy to hear everyone's opinion. Many TIA

Why not upgrade intakes and then tune the car? I wouldn’t bother doing intake mod after you’re tuned… you wouldn’t gain much power (MAYBE 5-10hp?) and you’re going to compromise the accuracy of the expensive tune you just paid for… just my opinion.

Thanks. I meant that I would do all the mods before the tuning, so tuning is done last. I just re-read my post and realised that the way I wrote it was confusing. Sorry about that - but yes, looking to make a decision now whether it's worth leaving stock box as is, or putting K&N filters in stock box, or just going whole hog and adding full Stillendual long-tube air intake kit like the one at the link below

The difference in price for the 3 options in Aussie dollars is $0, $200 and $800. I've guessing the Stillen is best overall but if gains are just marginal it's maybe not really worth the effort.

Talking

What you have done plus the Stillen long tube inlets should net you around +-315 HP. Ecutek would be the way to go. They offer more in the way of tuning.
Memphis370Z and ZoomZ like this.

I'm in the process of getting a Tune. I have a cat back and CAI installed. If you have time, you can wait for my outcome.

However, I am doing a remote tune so no Dyno numbers.
