Default <SOLVED> Steering lock module (not the same common problem)

Hi,

So i have steering lock yellow warning light.

I have read and watch so many youtube and still can not solve the problem. The car in LOCK position

1. Try banging the module with no luck.
2. Try jumper the pink/red wire to the ground and still can not get it to acc mode (checked the red and blue wire for 12v, and these 2 cables have 12v on it)
3. Take the steering lock module out, press and hold the lock down and try to push to acc mode failed
4. Check steering lock fuse is not broken (end up checking all the fuse in the box and all fuses are working
5. Check car battery with multimeter and the car battery is 12v.
6. Check and change the key battery
7. Disconnect car battery for 5 minutes

All windows, door, alarm horn, light is doing fine.
And i dont think the problem is on the key because the car still detect the key when i put it inside the key holder at the bottom of the steer. Also the key still can open and lock the car door.

Can any body point me what else to check?
Is there anything i have to check, i suspect a roddent/rat is bitting cable somewhere but i do not know where to start or check.

Thanks

Despite no one help and responded i will update my thread after i solved the problem.

The problem is with the steering lock module which totally broken (might be electrical component broken) and i replace it with steering lock emulator bought from aliexpress and the problem solved directly.

Yes. The odd part is when the steering lock module still connected i try to jumper the red / pink wire to the ground but can not get it to acc mode

Also try to push the lock module down back inside while pressing the button still can not make it work.

I think maybe its not the mechanincal is broken. Maybe the electrical component inside the module is broken so no data delivered even the lock is push to trigger the switch..

For anyone who have these problem i recommend to try to buy steering lock emulator on aliexpress for only 24$. There is 2 type emulator for 370z. The one for year above 2012 and the one below 2012. I end up having 2 of these because i bought wrong version. But it work just make sure your car year.

We appreciate the update so others can use your experience in the future.

So have you pulled the fuse now while everything is functioning properly so you don't have another problem?

I didnt pull the fuse as i uninstall the steering lock module and put the steering lock emulator.
The emulator act like the real module to communicate with the BCM. I scan the ECU and all fault code on BCM is gone and not coming back. The emulator works very good.

so the first one is for 2009 to 2011 for the US models?

Do I just plug it in with the existing factory ESCL plug without any programming or alteration?

Thanks...

Yes.. Just use the socket or factory ESCL plug, plug it to the emulator. No programming needed. As i can see all country 370z have the same part code for ESCL, so i believe the emulator will work for all country, just make sure the year is right.

Gotcha, thanks for the explanation, I was wondering the purpose of the emulator. Good solution!
