Has anyone gone from a G35C to a 370Z? I'm looking for thoughts and comparisons. Did you like this decision or regret it? Does the 370 blow the G out

Has anyone gone from a G35C to a 370Z?
I'm looking for thoughts and comparisons. Did you like this decision or regret it? Does the 370 blow the G out of the water in most aspects? Currently have the G35C as my daily and am looking for a little more excitement without sacrificing too much comfort. Thanks. |

The 370z is exactly that. You get shorter wheelbase, wider stance, more power than your current car and with just a bit of mods (lsd, maybe some suspension work) you can have an awesome car which provides you with a lot of fun, yet is more comfy than most cars in its class.

I had a 2005 G35 6MT. Great car overall but bc of gas prices at the time - went with a VW GTI which offered a little bit of everything along with the practicality of a hatch. Then after needing a very expensive repair - decided to trade it for my first 370z - 2010 Silver Sport 6MT. What started off as a ‘stop gap’ vehicle quickly became one of best well balanced vehicles I have owned. So I decided to upgrade from the Sport to a 2017 Nismo 6MT. Won’t lie - it is such a better car than the G35 - and it seems lighter and you have more power - in particular the turning radius is so much better than the G (I always felt the G had such a wide turning radius when doing U-Turns and what not).
Overall - the G is a great car - but….the 370z is pretty much better in most every category (at least to me). The funny thing - if the G would have had better gas mileage I would have considered one as a daily bc I still feel like its a great car. Regardless - good luck with your search. |

I went from a '07 350Z (M6) to a '09 370Z (A7) to a '13 370Z (M6). IMO, the handling is better in the 370Z, and the stock exhaust note sounds better on a G35/350Z, but otherwise, it's basically the same car. As another member stated, test drive one to see if it's what you're looking for.

I came from a 2006 G35 coupe. It was a great car and I actually had less repairs done to it than my Z. The Z is definitely faster and more agile in the turns. I knew going into the Z that I would be losing back seats and a trunk so that is something to consider which I definitely miss.
Also, the Z is not as refined interior wise as the G. So if that's something that is of concern for you that is something to think about. Overall my Z has been very reliable and it is easy to work on even though I'm a professional technician of 9 years with plenty of tools.

Considering I've driven through the OP's location of Delaware once on I95, I wouldn't even consider the non-Nismo OE suspension variation of the Z on those roads.

I owned a 2004 G35 Coupe 6MT which I sold at around 135,000 miles. It was a great car and drew a lot of attention back in the day with the Caribbean Blue (metallic blue) color and 20" Volk wheels I had on it. Now I have a 2017 370Z 6MT with tasteful mods. The Z is at 362hp with those simple mods and a tune. The VQ37VHR motor in the Z is simply a big improvement over the venerable VQ35DE motor the G35 had. It's more fun than the G35.

What about the differences in the 2010 Silver Sport and the 17 Nismo, I am still driving a 09 blue sport manual, with 58K

If you don't need that two little dog-seat in the G35, go for the 370z |
