Default Stray Connector?

MY20
When I went to unlock the hood today, I felt a loose cable by the driver's side footwell. Turned out to be a connector just hanging. Looks like an OBD connector. Is it supposed to just be hanging out like that, not clipped onto something? The edges look like they hook onto some foundation. Where? Thanks.

Did you trace the wire? Where does it go? It does look like an OBD2 plug. Possibly just an extension harness relocating the plug.

I’ve got a Y adapter for my OBD2 port so I can keep a BT dongle plugged in for data logging purposes.

Thanks JARblue. I haven't traced it yet. There is a cradle to the left of the connector in the pic. I will try and see if that's where it belongs. Again, thanks.

The port is normally centered under the steering wheel. It's possible it was just relocated from that location. Check and see if there is a mounting point for it to clip back into the stock location.
