Default Fair price for tune?

Looking to get tuned soon as I’m installing FBO on my Z and was wondering what a fair price for tuning would be. Contacted soho 𝙈𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙍𝙎𝙋𝙊𝙍𝙏𝙎 as I’m local to Charlotte and they’re quoting me near $1100 for a ecutek tune. My friend had recommended an alphaspeed custom tune but I’m not too sure about their tunes as I don’t see many Zs running off of alphaspeed custom tunes, but they’re charging 650 for a tune. If anyone knows if 1100 seems like a fair price or not let me know. Also if any good shops for tuning in the 2 hr radius of Charlotte are known please let me know as well. Thanks.

I paid $750 in 2015 for my ecutek tune. $500 for the license and $250 for the tune on a dyno.

If you want a dyno tune that's about right. Etuning will save you some money if you want to do that instead

I paid $900 for my tune back in 2012. That was for an UpRev tune and tuner cable. Options were $500 for the tune. $750 for the basic cable and tune. And $900 for the tuner cable and tune. The car was on the rollers for about a half day.

Wrong question! First thing that you should be doing is to ask to see previous results of their tunes on your car and compare to Seb's. I paid around the same for tune on my 40th AE and got comparable results on Mustang dyno. If you're tuning one with forced induction, this is even more important.

I had my Z dyno tuned on Ecutek back in 2016. I paid around $800, which included the license. The car was on the Dyno Dynamics dyno for at least 5 hours. Worth every penny in my experience.

OP wants to know if $1100 is a fair price. Just showing him that what I paid in 2012 isn't far off from what the going price is now.
