Does this camber arm look right?
Hi all, noticed a thunking sound from the driver rear lately, got it up in the air to inspect some bushings and noticed the SPC camber arm I have looks twisted in a way that seems unnatural. This probably isn't right I'm guessing. What do you guys think? I know I've heard some things about SPC not lasting as long as other brands. Probably 20,000 miles over 3.5 years on them.
Thanks! IMG_3315.jpg IMG_3311.jpg |

Bushing looks like it's toast. Bite the bullet and go with quality camber arms with heim joints like SPL.

You should expect similar quality with those brands. Go SPL if you want peace of mind that it won't happen again.

Z1 arms are fine, but your alignments are going take longer, costing you more money. SPL is more expensive up front, but easier to align, so shops wont charge you as much. I wouldn't go with kinetix or SPC.

Just get the SPL parts and be done with it.

So, got time to finally poke around in there today and the camber arm is totally fine actually. whoever did the alignment didn't hold the arm-end straight when they tightened the shaft of it. that's all good.
The culprit of my little thunking sound was...an undertorqued rear lower shock bolt. Tightened her up, checked a torque on a few other items, and we're good to go! |
