But here is what they said....
We now know that the gorgeous Nissan Z Proto was all but production ready, wearing only the thinnest of disguises over what would end up being the new Z. That was no big surprise. With the next-generation of Nissan Z moving to a twin-turbo V-6, that development renders the outgoing 370Z one of the last affordable two-seaters to offer a naturally aspirated engine and a manual transmission. Considering many 350Zs were hot-rodded and turned into drift toys when they became affordable, the last of the 370Zs may a savvy pick to snap up before they meet a similar fate. Because the car was so dated in its golden years, Nissan wasn’t moving a lot of 370Z metal in its last few years of production, but as the saying goes, many sports car buyers won’t know what they’ve got ‘til it’s gone.

still life in the old car....

This is what I keep telling my younger brother. He's all about the fact that the car is dated, the interior is old etc etc. 370z is gonna be one of the last of its kind. NA, no stupid screens that will get dated super quick, no electronic power steering, manual.

I think it will to some degree. But it has stiff competition in "collectible" status compared to older M3s, Porsches, Lotus Elise, etc. (Referring to "collectible" as far as people like me who want a lightweight car without a bunch of nannies, creature-comforts, 15 airbags, etc.)

Man, I wish I could still get an '05 Lotus Elise for $35k or so, but so few were made, that the people who want a raw car drove up the prices to like $55k now. There just aren't many raw cars to choose from. 370z won't rise like that, but I could totally see the 350z/370z manuals keeping better than average prices against all the cars that don't offer manual or have a bunch of electrical dash stuff that will fail and won't be supported in years to come. Personally, I'm kinda interested in a 370z sport, but not in a Touring because I don't want the extra electrical stuff.

I've been thinking the new Lotus Emira might be one of, if not the last, na non eps, drivers cars to be released. It's lotus last ICE car. At least one of the last affordable drivers cars.

If I had the funds, the Emira would be at the top of my list!

Not sure about collectability but I am sure the 370z prices won't plummet considering the new Nissan Z is built upon the Z34 chassis. The interchangeable parts coming to the 370z gives me 240sx vibes and it's a pretty car even more than a decade after its release so who knows!
