New here , suspension question

i bought a used 370z in the spring, it had a few prior modifications. All had been well until a tire went the other day .The car is so low

Unhappy New here , suspension question

i bought a used 370z in the spring, it had a few prior modifications. All had been well until a tire went the other day .The car is so low had issues getting jack under to get spare on .upon taking tire off, or actually before could see outer sidewall had actually split open(tire is toast of coarse)..and seeing inner tire sidewall it looks like it was rubbing extensively..probably causing it to lose air, and possibly why outer sidewall split. Anyways, the car is on lowering springs, has adjustable camber arms and riding on 275/35/19 on 10.5" rim, so tire is stretched. I'm not opposed to the "stanced" look ,but like the alignment shop said "be prepared to buy lots of tires". So, are coilovers the remedy to bring it back to stock...the adjustable camber arms are still ok to use? Weighing the options, spend a bunch of money to bring it back to "stock" ..from where someone spent a bunch of money to put it where it is.

Pics would be great but honestly, you would want to start searching through the suspension part of the forum.

So if I'm understanding correctly - you have lowering springs along with some camber arm adjustments and the tire shop is still telling you that it's out of alignment so that is why you are eating through your tires?

camber is not what kills tires. stretch isn't either - the ******* STOCK NISMO FROM THE FACTORY has a 285/35/19 on a 19x10.5 wheel. 10mm less is nothing

it is TOE being off

camber arms aren't fixing your problem

Solution:
Don't be a wimp
Throw away the crappy springs and camber arms you got on the car. I assume it's megan racing or some ebay brand of crap.
Get good coilovers
Get the SPL full setup
Get a proper wheel/tire combo
Take it to a performance place that does aftermarket suspension, preferably with experience on track cars and such

Slap all the parts on
Get an alignment. Camber as necessary to fit wheels, then minimal toe (if not zero outright)

Enjoy your Z that now looks and drives better and won't eat tires.

New guy just found out he needs $4k+ in parts to unfvck what the last owner did to his car.

This is why I wouldn't buy any used Z that wasn't bone stock (with exception of official Nissan/Nismo upgrades).

To bring it back to stock should now be that difficult. There are plenty of stock parts out there for next to nothing. Best of all you can sell off those "stance" parts for $.

Wealth of information in this thread. Alignment is far out of spec. If you can’t afford to do it all right the first time then install the base springs or Nismo springs. You do not want to eat through expensive tires every few thousand miles don’t learn the hard way like some here have.
