Question Rattle/Buzzing/Vibration Exhaust?

Hello,

i have a 2019 370z 6 speed with Art Test pipes, XZY Y pipe and ISR Single exit.

I'm having a horrible rattling/buzzing noise around 3k and up. Its consistent with the Revs. The higher the revs the louder the buzz or rattle. It sounds like thin sheet metal vibrating against each other. The sound to my ears seems to be coming from the trunk area. It's a very loud buzz. It only happens under load. If i'm just revving in Neutral then there is no noise.

I've removed all trunk plastics. Tied down and properly secured all harnesses. Some of the plastic trim clips were causing a horrible buzz between 2-3k but that has been solved. I'm still going to use some sound deadening and ensolite foam sheets to do the whole trunk and then put all the interior plastics back.

Anyone have any idea what the hell is this annoying metallic buzzing? Can it be the Y pipe hitting the W brace under the car?

I've adjusted the trunk latch and U-bolt and i've done about every fix i could find in the rattle thread. The interior plastics are not the issue anymore, it is definetly something to do with the exhaust since it only happens under load.

It sounds like this but louder, same type of buzzing just alot louder because my exhaust setup is louder.

Do you still have the factory muffler heat shield ?
I took mine off when I put my tails on just in case.

I have removed every single heat shield under the car.

I did add some spacers to the muffler section so it wouldnt touch the bumper and im wondering if it lowered it enough to hit the W brace.

I saw some exhaust install videos and alot of them have some good amount of space between the exhaust and W brace. Mine i dont think i can even get my finger inbetween.

Will need to go under tomorrow and remove the spacers and see if it helps.

It sounds like you’re getting excessive drone and resonance from your exhaust system. The only cure is a better designed or quieter exhaust setup. These cars, especially the coupes will amplify resonance from loud exhausts and transfer it all over the cabin, especially in the hatch area.

You're running a single exit exhaust with test pipes. Buzzing/rattling comes with the territory.

okay so i removed the spacers from the exhaust hanger and it def helped a ton. i would say it got rid of half the noise.

However there is still a decent amount of vibrations coming from the hatch metal body panels. You think sound deadening and ensolite foam will absorb the resonance/vibration and stop the panels from buzzing against each other?

Sound deadening will definitely help. Will it stop it completely? No.

Ive had loud cars before and i know they will have resonance and drone but this is different. There is no drone. It literally sounds like a high pitched buzzing like as if you left a metal bolt to rattle against the metal panels.
