Anyone put their battery in back?

Anyone put their battery in the back of their 370 to take weight off the front?
Did you feel a difference in handling?

I would not recommend it since there is no actual trunk. You will be exposed to the invisible fumes of the acid in the batteries, just my 2 cents. Not to mention the work it takes to wire. I did this on my Civic Si back in 2k, waste of time

As HEK says, it's a lot of work (and money) for very little gain in a DD. You'll need to have the suspension re-tuned (more work and money). As far as fumes, you can get batteries that reduce/eliminate the problem (more money). For competition*, it might be worthwhile - but not a DD. YMMV

Thanks for the replies, agreed, don't think its worth the effort, especially since the 370 is so nicely balanced anyway.
Back in ye old days, American muscle car guys used to do this, mainly to get more weight on the rear for drag run traction.
I don't think having a battery inside is a problem, just a gnats fart worth of hydrogen might come out of them during a big recharge. The cars' vents draw air out the back anyway. I believe some oddball sports cars came with batts inside anyway, like the Opel GT & MGB (?)
Interesting HEK mentions his Civic Si, I've got an RSX (kinda the same thing) and I thought of doing a batt relocate on it but haven't yet. Now those are real front heavy, like ~65%ish on the front

I went from a 2000 Civic Si to a 2002 RSX-S, loved it as well but since I had just remarried and all of a sudden had kids, I went to a 2005 Acura TL manual. I always wanted a 2 seater, funny how some people have the same tastes and buy the same cars throughout their lives. Now single I use the passenger seat to place my headphones and gym gear.

Installing a battery relocation kit is worth it to some and not worth it to others. You will see the largest benefit installation a battery relocation kit on a Z that sees more track time than anything. I did a custom battery relocation kit on my last Z using an Odyssey extreme series battery and it worked well.

I am seriously considering the same for my Z. It mostly sees track time and removing a big 45 pound battery from the front of the car will make significant difference due to the added weight of the twin turbo kit and associated go fast and cooling add ons!

Yes, did it, butt dyno didn't notice any difference. Only did it cause it was the only way to get GTM SC intake some fresher air
