Loose part?

Anyone here know what this piece is? My lady was driving my car last night and heard a scraping sound underneath the car. She wasn’t sure if she ran over it or if it came from the car.

Looks like road debris she picked up to me.

Wow lucky. I hit one of those before and it destroyed my tire and bent the wheel. Pretty sure it's from a trailer.

I assumed it was just debri from the road, wanted to be sure though. I was lucky it just got stuck and didn’t do any damage. Thanks for all your help.
